The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently going to the Fernie 2 Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions into the community.

SASSA will be rendering companies like new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In an announcement, the agency reported it's alarmed regarding the significant number of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The aim in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the higher variety of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This sassa status check is a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no thoroughly functional office devoted sassa to service the area on a daily basis. The services level developed for intervention experiences a high influx of potential beneficiaries, that makes it difficult with the Workplace to attend to all people who check out a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise far more sources to allow sassa status the servicing of all clients and increase access to Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.
